Cheyanne’s Comeback: Striding for Stroke
Hi everyone,
In January 2023, at just 23 years old, I suffered a cerebellar stroke caused by a blood clot travelling through an undiagnosed hole in my heart.
In a matter of moments, my life changed completely. I spent four weeks in hospital, followed by months of rehabilitation, learning to trust my body and rebuild my life. There were moments when I wanted to give up.. but I didn’t.
Since then, I’ve returned to dancing, become a race car driver, stepped back onto the speedway and continued building a beautiful life with Brandon and Amelia. I still live with fatigue and other effects of my stroke, but every step forward reminds me just how lucky I am to be here.
This September, our family and team are taking on Stride4Stroke to celebrate how far I’ve come, raise awareness that stroke can happen to anyone at any age, and support other survivors and families facing their own recovery journeys.
Every Moving Minute represents strength, recovery and another step towards a future with fewer strokes.
If you’re able to donate, join our team or simply share our page, we would be so incredibly grateful. Together, we can help Stroke Foundation continue its vital work in stroke prevention, treatment and recovery.
Thank you for supporting our Stride. 💜
