This November, I’m taking part in Stroke Foundation’s Stride4Stroke to help prevent, treat and beat stroke!

In Australia, one stroke occurs every 9 minutes.

It is one of Australia's biggest killers, killing more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.

Stroke attacks the brain, the human control centre, changing lives in an instant. The impact of stroke can be devastating for the individual and the family. However, the impact of stroke can be prevented, with research indicating that around 80 percent of strokes are preventable.

I have picked my Stride4Stroke activity goal and I’m ready to go!

So close!!!!!

So I’ve reached over 110km and now I just need to reach my target of $2000. If you are able to sponsor me I would really appreciate it. This challenge has been so good to my physical and mental health. It has been less than 4 months since the stroke and I have grown so much as a person. I have learnt to appreciate everything and not to worry about things I cannot control. 2020 has been an eventful year with good and bad! Nearly there!!!

I am so close to reaching my 100km target even with a few hiccups along the way. My life has been forever changed since having my stroke in August this year. I am alive and I appreciate every minute of every day!! Michelle xx

My Second Chance

On the 11th August 2020 my life changed forever. I suffered a stroke and seizure which caused me to collapse and land on a gas bottle cause me to fracture seven vertebrae.

I am so thankful to be alive and I am working really hard on my rehabilitation.

I know this is a long journey and I see this challenge as a way for me to make a difference while helping me to recover physically and emotionally.
