I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!
Hi there, I'm taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation to help create a future with fewer strokes.
Stroke sadly is a lot more prevalent than you would think. Stroke affects people of all ages, with one in four people globally experiencing a stroke in their lifetime.
In my case I’d suffered a brain aneurysm unknown to me though suffering incredible pain did nothing about this till four days later (typical man), it's surprising I'm here at all. It was only due to a my very good friend Rob insisting he was taking me to a hospital to get checked out, did I then discover what had happened. It was while i was in hospital getting that sorted out I then suffered a series of strokes. That resulted in being put in an induced coma for three weeks following some major brain surgery to clean up the mess in my head.
I left the hospital approx. 8 months later in Nov 2023 in a wheelchair.
I'm now trying to “pay it forward” by raising money for the Stroke Foundation by participating in “Stride4Stroke” while using this opportunity to get myself back up and walking again.

Day 1, a good but tough start
Getting Ready
My training has been going well. And I think i'm in a good position track to achieving my target. The rain has though been atrocious some days, but coming from Scotland I'm sure i can work through that. ?Let's roll tomorrow 1st September and get Striding.
