I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!
Hi there,
I’m taking on Stride4Stroke this September and raising funds for Stroke Foundation to help create a future with fewer Strokes. At the same time I want to make a difference to our local environment.
Almost 47,000 Australians will have a Stroke this year — that’s one every 11 minutes.
This year, every $11 raised represents one Stroke expected in Australia. I’m aiming to make as much impact as I can — and I’d love your support.
Your donation will help fund vital programs and services that:
Prevent Stroke through education and awareness
Support people and families when Stroke happens
Help survivors of Stroke recover and rebuild their lives
In addition to Striding, I’ve given myself the added challenge to collect and bin a minimum of two buckets of litter each day from my local park by picking up the waste people have left behind while doing my Striding.
16% to 22% of all reported and collected litter comes from public parks and bushlands. Plastic items make up over 80% of this waste, with single-use beverage containers, takeaway packaging, and cigarette butts standing as the most frequently dumped items. Rather than just striding by it and then letting it go in the river, I want to do something else to make a difference. So I’m combining my “Stride 4 Stroke” activities with collecting park trash, hopefully for your generous cash with every dollar raised going to The Stroke Foundation.
Every dollar truly makes a difference.
Thank you so much for supporting me — together, we can help change the story of Stroke and the environment we live in.
So far I have helped Stroke Foundation deliver…
Initial advice and support from a health professional on StrokeLine
A stroke recovery pack to three survivors of stroke
Training to a StrokeSafe volunteer to deliver community talks.
Funding to stroke researchers to find the next game-changer in stroke.

From me to me to kickstart my fund raising :)
