My target 100 kms
This November, I’m taking part in Stroke Foundation’s Stride4Stroke to help prevent, treat and beat stroke!
In Australia, one stroke occurs every 9 minutes.
It is one of Australia's biggest killers, killing more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.
Approximately 60% of people who have had a stroke will develop a swallowing difficulty (dysphagia), while around 20% will have difficulty using speech. A further 30% of all people who have had a stroke will have difficulty articulating ideas or comprehending written or spoken language (aphasia). Speech pathologists work with people who have had a stroke and are experts in communication and swallowing problems.
This year, to raise funds for Stride4Stroke, my goal is to walk 150kms in the month of November! Please support my challenge through providing a donation to help the Stroke Foundation support those currently affected by stroke, and to fund research to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.
Thanks!
