I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!

Hi there, I'm taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.

Did you know stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and there is one stroke every 19 minutes, even though more than 80% of strokes can be prevented?

Stroke doesn't discriminate; it affects anyone, anytime, even unborn babies. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. Even more distressing, around 600 Australian children experience stroke each year.

Your support can make a significant difference, and I kindly ask you to help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation. It only takes a minute, and any amount you can give, no matter how large or small, will go a long way in supporting Stroke Foundation's vision of a world free from disability and suffering caused by stroke.

With your generosity, the Stroke Foundation will be able to:

Prevent Stroke: By empowering a greater proportion of adult Australians to recognize the modifiable risk factors for stroke, we can increase their chances of preventing stroke and living healthier lives.

Save Lives: Your support will enable hospitals and healthcare providers across Australia to enhance their capabilities in stroke care and rehabilitation services, ultimately saving more lives.

Enhance Recovery: By reaching out to those affected by stroke, the Stroke Foundation ensures that more Australians can access reliable information, resources, and essential post-stroke support, promoting a better recovery journey for stroke survivors.

Your donation will directly contribute to these critical initiatives, bringing hope, assistance, and improved outcomes to stroke survivors and their families.

Thank you for your support. Your generosity means a lot to me.

My Updates

Day 30

The big finish! Ultra to round out the month, and boy are the legs cooked. Longest ever run and straight off a full day of work. Plenty of support the whole way through beeping horns and donations, all kept me going. Plus such a wonderful cause. Let's bloooody gooooo!

Day 29

Screaming calves for most of the 21.1km this evening. Huge storm thankfully passed, but that meant a later start time. Slow and steady to manage the pain. Straight into a lot of recovery and rest. One more big push to go!

Day 28

Longest run yet for the month, just over 23km. Notched up 600km total. 2 more days to go. Let's raise a heap of money and spread the word!

Day 27

Post work half Mara. Linked up with fellow Bitumen Basher, Jackson, for the first 6km and then continued on for the rest solo. Quad tightened up for the last few kms so had to slow the pace and just get through. Only a few more left

Day 26

Joined in for the Central Coast RunFest Half Marathon today in a bit more of an official run. Great atmosphere, heaps of people on the track. Really helpful to mix it up and tick off another run!

Day 25

Blessed with some great company for this mornings run. Cruised through the half Mara in the drizzle, shared a couple of yarns and soaked it all in. 5 more to go! Yeeew

Day 24

Flying into Friday. Early starter before work and the rain today. Felt refreshed after a good sleep. Smashed out the half mara. Going to match donations for the next 24hrs. Let's raise some bloody cash!

Day 23

4AM Milk Run in Newy with this bloody legend leading the charge. Was tired and sore, but Nedd had enough energy to make half of the town want to run through a brick wall. Couple of big hills with this one but charged through for some choccy milk. Straight into the car and off to work. Help.

Day 22

Day Chew Chew. Felt the energy back this arvo, legs were loose and pace was back. Got the 21.1 in after work and before the rain arrived thankfully. Straight into recovery because up early for a special one tomorrow!

Day 21

3 week streak! Into the home stretch now. Felt the most fatigued and flat after work that I can remember this month. Got out there and headed to Forries Beach for a great view and trundled back. Definitely more sore, down but not out. 9 more days, 9 more half maras

Day 20

Fastest of the month! Felt great and was flying, heaps of energy. Then 12km in found a trip hazard, missed and had a tumble haha. Thankfully just a few grazes and bruise, got up and kept at it. 21.1 km done, hopefully the body is good to go again tomorrow!

Day 19

Breeze off the lake was a treat, and absolutely necessary for today's run. Feeling pretty tired, but got myself up and about, and the sun was bloody lovely once we got going! 21.1 and done. Lesssgo

Day 18

Slow burner this morning with fellow Bitumen Bashers, Dale and Jimmy. Another 21.1km ticked over. Knees and feet feeling it by the end, but hopefully a longer recovery will have us feeling good tomorrow!

Day 17

Tools down and straight into the run home from work today. 22km, and no need to wait in traffic, bonus! Few more hills than usual, but great to mix it up. Few niggles creeping in late, but we rest up and go again tomorrow.

Day 16

Shirt and vibes are bright! Body feeling surprisingly good for this deep into the month. Slowed up and cramped a little towards the end of the 21.1km. Avoided the rain. Keen for a big Friday effort. Lesssgo!

Day 15

HALFWAY BABY! Not sure how the body is still ticking away, but all for a bloody good cause. Fastest time for the month and felt good. Lesssgo

Day 14

Straight out of work and into a run from Gosford to Woy Woy and back. Lacked energy and feeling tightness in the knees and hammys. Slowed it up and pushed through to hit the 21.1km. Into recovery and see what tomorrow brings.

Day 13

Thirteeeeen! Mixed up the route again this evening and ran to Mum's to wish her a happy birthday. Legs felt good and had a bit more pace in them. Another HM ticked off

Day 12

Let the body rest in the morning, headed out in the arvo to knock off another 21.1km. Little treat with post run refreshments by the beach.

Day 11

Quick turnaround for an early morning run with Bitumen Bashers, Jackson and Harry. Feeling sore on this one, so slow and steady was the way. Straight to the beach for recovery after another 21.1km

Day 10

Started a little later after work today, but the cooler weather helped to get the double digits up. Another 21.1 done. Just keep showing up!

Day 9

Body feeling the fatigue today. Huge storm threatened to stop progress, but left a little later and still managed 21.1km. Now to hit the double digits tomorrow!

Day 8

Joined fellow Bashers Foggy and Jimmy for a trail run. 22km with a lot more elevation than usually. Great mix up though and excellent company.

Day 7

Wild. A full week of running a daily half marathon. Not sure how I've managed, but let's keep this thing going! No better way to raise awareness and funds!

Day 6

Another half marathon post work. Feeling surprisingly good with the body. Listening to the GOATs audio book for inspo (Nedd Brockman)

Day 5

Rain cleared in the arvo, time for a Sunday trot. Cal managed to join the whole way and smash his first HM! Unreal!

Day 4

Fellow Bitumen Bashers, Jim and Jacko, battled through huge downpour and puddles galore. Rough conditions but excellent company. Hardest one yet, but still hitting the half marathon a day.

Day 3

Another 21.1 km done after work. Hit up an ice bath to help with recovery.

Day 2

First time managing to run 21.1km in consecutive days. Standard recovery choccy milk post run. No better time to challenge the body and raise some funds!

Day 1

Kicking things off with a Half Marathon after work. Feeling fresh and good to start the month!
