I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!
This September, I’m taking on Stride for Stroke in honour of my husband, Matt.
Last year, Matt’s life changed forever when an AVM ruptured, causing a severe and devastating stroke. He spent 8 months in hospital, learning to walk again and facing challenges that most of us could never imagine.
To recognise the strength, determination and resilience it takes to recover from a stroke, I’m committing to walking 900 minutes throughout September to raise funds for Stroke Foundation.
Every minute I walk represents the long road of recovery that stroke survivors and their families travel every day. If you’re able to, I’d be so grateful for your support—whether that’s making a donation, sharing my fundraiser, or cheering me on.
Together, we can help fund vital stroke research, support services and hope for families like ours.
So far I have helped Stroke Foundation deliver…
Initial advice and support from a health professional on StrokeLine
A stroke recovery pack to three survivors of stroke
Training to a StrokeSafe volunteer to deliver community talks.
Funding to stroke researchers to find the next game-changer in stroke.
