Tracey and Glenns story: 

'My name is Glenn.
I was a healthy 64-year-old male, full of life and energy- always busy with work and renovations, getting out and about, and working alongside my wife.

Then, on the morning of August 21st, 2024, my life took a turn for the worse. I had a massive stroke. Luckily, my wife was there, and I received medical treatment within 15 minutes. She saved me. She knew I had suffered a stroke- it was a hemorrhagic stroke caused by blood clots on the brain.

It was an incredibly scary time for me and my family. I was surrounded by love and received wonderful care from all the nurses and doctors at each hospital I was in. Three months later, I finally got out of the hospital.

But during my time there, I was in shock. I saw so many people—many of them healthy—suffering from strokes. There were no obvious warning signs for most. Nurses, doctors, parents, car salespeople, accountants... It affects people from all walks of life.

Every stroke patient undergoes testing to determine the actual cause. What’s shocking is that strokes aren’t limited to the elderly—some victims are as young as 8 months old. If doctors can find a brain that’s not too badly damaged, they can use it to conduct research and try to find answers.

There is a stroke victim every 11 minutes in Australia.
Every 11 minutes.

That’s why I’m here- living the stroke.
It’s a long road to recovery, but I have love and support around me.

Now, we need to come together to raise funds for this worthy cause- to build awareness, prevent strokes, and ultimately save lives.
