Collin's Journey

On the 9th of December, Collin's had a cerebellum stroke. This did not present in a typical way a stroke does. With the only symptoms being dizziness and nausea, he drove home from the shops, danced in front of the TV (much to our annoyance) then went to bed. Little did we know, by the next morning our lives would be forever changed.  His recovery has been long with many ups and downs. Over the past 8 months, he has spent weeks in a comatose state and months without walking or talking. Yet through it all, even in silence, he always found a way to say “I love you”  even if it was a simple, reassuring squeeze of our hands.  While this has been some of the worst and darkest times of our lives it has also taught us all lessons in compassion, advocacy, resilience and hope.  He is still on the road to recovery, so any funds raise will help stroke survivors like him across Australia.

Hi there, we are taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation to help create a future with fewer strokes.

In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke.

Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and doesn't discriminate; it affects anyone, anytime. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. And incredibly, up to 120 babies and 400 children have a stroke in Australia each year.
