My target 100 kms

This November, I’m taking part in Stroke Foundation’s Stride4Stroke to help prevent, treat and beat stroke!

As many of you who know me, know my father had a very debilitating stroke when he was only 48, so I'm taking part in this stride for stroke to raise awareness and fund raise  for the Stroke Foundation.

In Australia, one stroke occurs every 9 minutes.

It is one of Australia's biggest killers, killing more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.

Stroke attacks the brain, the human control centre, changing lives in an instant. The impact of stroke can be devastating for the individual and the family. However, the impact of stroke can be prevented, with research indicating that around 80 percent of strokes are preventable.

I have picked my Stride4Stroke activity goal and I’m ready to go!

Please support my Stride4Stroke challenge with a donation today.

Your donation will help the Stroke Foundation support those affected right now and fund research to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery. Thank you.

Day 30

Final morning of the stride for stroke walking and fundraising, but I intend to keep it up now I've started. Went without Sid this morning and did 4.47km. I started aiming for 100km and $500. I finished with around 126km and over $700. Thanks so much to everyone who has supported me and donated so generously to the Stroke Foundation.

Day 27

Another early morning walk, slightly different route this morning just for a change and 4.36km

Day 26

Sid missed out again this morning, but I did 4.5 km and another 1.3 at lunch - that I recorded - was probably double that as I forgot to set it going when I started!

Beautiful morning for a walk today and with the 4.44km around the block I’ve made it to my target of 100km for the month with 5 days to go ?

Day 24

Combination of lunch walk to buy Greg some sunglasses and an evening walk with Sid clocking up 4.5km

Day 23

Thank you so much to all who have donated to the stroke foundation and supported me and made me even more motivated to achieve my goals. I'm almost at my walking target and have passed my initial fundraising target of $500.
Today was a short walk at lunch to the post office and supermarket, but still managed 1.54 km in the process. Tonight I took Sid around the block and did the 4.46km block.

A longer walk this morning and got wet as a shower came through, but Sid enjoyed it. Did the slightly bigger block and clocked 5.37km
