This November, I’m taking part in Stroke Foundation’s Stride4Stroke to help prevent, treat and beat stroke!

In Australia, one stroke occurs every 9 minutes.

It is one of Australia's biggest killers, killing more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.

Stroke attacks the brain, the human control centre, changing lives in an instant. The impact of stroke can be devastating for the individual and the family. However, the impact of stroke can be prevented, with research indicating that around 80 percent of strokes are preventable.

I have picked my Stride4Stroke activity goal and I’m ready to go!

Please support my Stride4Stroke challenge with a donation today.

Your donation will help the Stroke Foundation support those affected right now and fund research to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery. Thank you.

My Updates

Striding for the future

This whole event and charity are really important to me as my mum suffered from a stroke when I was in my late teens. It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. It happened suddenly and unexpectedly considering I thought she was more or less healthy. Luckily she’s made pretty much a full recovery with very little difficulty when it comes to movement in her right leg. She’s a fighter, someone who refuses to give up. My mum is a single parent so I only had her growing up. She raised me as both a mum and dad and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for her. Now I’m blessed with my own little bundle of joy and I can only hope to be half the parent she has been to me. So this November I’m hoping to not only raise some funds for a great cause, but also get some extra exercise into my daily routine.
